Another item under our belt-February 24, 2009

We just received Certificates of Completion for the Intercountry Adoption Journey Training Program of the National Council for Adoption stating that we passed our eight hour online required class. Eric and I both loved this training. It goes through a lot of adoption information and scenarios from paperwork, choosing a country, getting a referral, what to expect when you pick up your child, possible health concerns of the children, and what to do when you get home. Not only did it have tons of informative readings, but it also had videos of families who have gone through the process, adoption agency staff that have helped families, international doctors, and governmental agency personnel. Even though we’ve been through the adoption process before, we still got a lot of information out of the training. Our certificates of completion have now been faxed to our agency Building Arizona Families so that they can see we’ve met this requirement. It’s required that we complete 10 hours and this was 8. On March 21st we’re going through a full day training that Hillcrest Family Services, our home study agency, requires so we’ll be well over the 10 hours. It sure seems as if things are rolling along nicely right now.
