Our church family rocks!!-March 1, 2009

When counting our blessings, we have to count our church family! The love and encouragement we receive from them is beyond belief. We were asked to make a presentation at church about our ‘passion’. Our passion is kids and so what a perfect time to talk about our family and also our little Ethiopian treasure that will hopefully be home sooner than later. So, today was the day that the presentation took place and it was amazing how much love and support was in the room. It started with the 8:00 service, continued with the 9:30 service and then was topped off with the 11:00 service. What a morning! Members came up after the services and offered hugs and encouraging words. I had said that we will need our church family to help us raise our child from Ethiopia, as well as our kids currently at home, and received an overwhelming, “We’ll help you.” Ann, one of our worship leaders, who’s incredibly talented musically, offered to play music to our little guy when he gets home. Wow. Words really can’t explain what gratitude we’re feeling tonight. God’s love is emanating out of Dubuque, Iowa. This is the same church family that has helped us with the paperwork part of the adoption process too in writing letters of reference for our dossier. Thank you to everyone at Grand View United Methodist Church. You’re the best!
